EML or the Electronic Mail is the proprietary file format developed by the Microsoft for Outlook Express, a desktop based email platform. It also used by the other email platforms as well i.e. Thunderbird, SeaMonkey etc. The messages in EML file format saves in the MIME RFC 822 standard format. It generally stores the short header and the main body. In the header part, it stores the email addresses of sender and the recipient, the subject, time and date of the message. In the main body it stores the text given in the email body. Apart from header and email body, the eml can hold-up hyperlinks and attachments as well.
